Hello friends! This week’s not only been busy, but excruciatingly hot as well! ;A; But then again, looking forward to what lipstick I’ll be wearing for the day helps to beat the summer heat blues.. or.. reds? I don’t know. Haha!
TUESDAY – 15 March
Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick in Foxy Lady was gifted to me by one of my best friends, Alexis, and I’d only gotten to wear this beauty that day! It looks scary and dark in the tube, but it applies on as a beautiful, sheer espresso brown. Though not very pigmented, I like that I can layer it on for more coverage; and yet it manages to sit comfortably on my lips.
WEDNESDAY – 16 March
I wore a favourite – LA Splash’s Smitten Waterproof Liptint Mousse in Nymphadora (now called Nymphaea). I bought it mainly because of the Harry Potter reference (I am a Potterhead, and always will be – hello, Tonks!), and kept using and wearing it because it’s such a pretty nude brown on me. I love it! I’ve actually got a backup tube stashed in my closet. Hahaha!
THURSDAY – 17 March
It was a pretty low-key day, not to mention so hot – so I went for Too Cool For School’s Lost Identity lip crayon in Lost in Dinoplatz. It comes as a chubby mint green crayon, but when applied on the lips, transforms into a rosy pink – on my lips, it’s a deeper pink because my lips are already quite pigmented. It’s reminiscent of “magic lipsticks” that I was so curious about as a child! (Plus points for the adorable packaging – actually, all of Too Cool For School’s packaging is!)
FRIDAY – 18 March
Another favourite made its way into the schedule! Colourpop’s Lippie Stix in Brink was my very first purchase from the cosmetic line, and for good reason – I felt it would be a great nude on me, as opposed to crowd favourite Lumiere. Also, I’ve always tended to gravitate towards the browner side of nude lipsticks, so Brink was a no-brainer! The matte Lippie Stix are more of a semi-matte finish, as they never feel super drying – it wears on so comfortably, and coverage is top-notch. I think I need to purchase a backup tube since I use this so much!
SATURDAY – 19 March
It felt even hotter than usual (UGH), so I made a last minute-switch from a liquid lipstick to a tinted lip balm. The day’s pick was Human Heart Nature’s Tinted Lip Balm in Island Kiss – a sheer, deep coral that comes out a rusty red-orange on my lips. You know by now that I love minty sensations on my lips when it comes to lip products; and this lip balm certainly delivers on the minty! And the ingredients used for the balm are 100% natural, too!
SUNDAY – 20 March
Apologies for the photo’s colour looking unlike the rest – because the day’s lipstick only reached my hands on the day itself! I had asked Alexis to purchase it when she passed by Landmark Makati after her French class – L’Oreal’s Tint Caresse powder lipstick in Peony Blossom was quite an impulse buy, but one that I don’t regret! (I mean.. it’s ON SALE!) I’ve always wanted to try the Tint Caresse’s powder formulation – which, after testing it, makes for a soft, buildable application. I applied it focusing on the inner portions of my lips, making a sort-of gradient lip. A friend of mine uses it in conjunction with a nude lipstick, for a full-on gradient effect! I should try that soon.
And that’s Week 3! Lots of nudes and easy picks for me, haha. We’ve got 2 weeks to go, so I hope you stick around for those posts!
Have you tried L’Oreal’s Tint Caresse line of powder lipsticks? What’s your favourite shade? 🙂
